1. Why is AOL going down the tubes? Why doesn't the AOL (9.1) update work anymore. Why hasn't AOL came up with a new version yet? Why don't a mojority of my AOL features work anymore? Why does AOL keep logging me off, showing people on my buddy list that aren't signed on, and loosing services left and right? Why didn't they replace our own webpage feature?
3. SEEMS TO ME ALONG WITH ALOT OF OTHER AOL USERS AOL IS TRYIN TO SHUT DOWN COMPETLEY AND NOT TELL US THEY JUST SIMPLY SHUTTING DOWN EVERYTHING ONE BY ONE THEN PRETTY SOON THEY WILL SHUT DOWN AOL ALL TOGETHER I DONT THINK IT IS RIGHT FOR THEM TO DO THAT ITS SAD WE COULDNT ALL STICK TOGETHER AND FILE A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINT AOL FOR DOIN THIS TO US SEEMS TO ME THEY JUST TO CHICKEN TO TELL US THEY PLANN ON SHITTING DOWN THE AOL PROGRAM AND ALL THIS TRANSFERRING US TO AIM IS CRAP AIM IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH AOL NEVER HAS BEEN WE HAVEN SO MUCH TROUBLE AND THAT AOL MAIL CHALLEGE THATS A BIG JOKE U CANT EVEN SEND OUT MAIL EVEN AFTER U COMPLETE THE IMAGE WHATS UP AOL YOU GUYS SCREWED UP A VERY GOOD PROGRAM AND NOW YOU WANT TO SHUT IT DOWN AND NOT TELL THE AOL USERS SHAME SHAME ON YOU DABUG
4. I lost my wedding page. thank you very much AOL. AMERICA online? horsepoopie! More like COMMUNIST online. How dare you? Hand in hand with MSN closing MSN groups. Tons of work, hours of work by thousands of people gone down the drain. Many memories destroyed. Yeah, I know the sites were free. I would gladly pay a couple of bucks a month to keep my wedding page, and other pages. At least you creeps could have given us some notice. AOL sucks. I had internet with AOL for two months. Shoddy service. They advertise you get it for free. Horsepoopie! You have to pay first then you get a refund on your credit card. Then they try some horsepoopie and bill you second month, meanwhile, you're paying finance charges on your credit card. Go on, get out of business AOL, nobody will miss you.

7. You might try plugging your AOL Hometown URL into
8. I got at least 3 emails from AOL notifying me that hometown was being shut down and web pages would be lost.
Isn't AOL owned by Time-Warner? There's your answer as to why AOL is spiraling into a black hole. Minimize services, minimize cost, maximize profit. That IS America! The truth is, the competition is putting AOL out of business. They're not the only ones doing this. Verizon did the same to their file storage service. Other services are also going the way of the dodo.
Those of you who had websites at hometown, they're gone forever. If you don't have the files backed up somewhere, you're sol. Sorry. If you have your files, go to www.60host.com. You can get your OWN DOMAIN NAME for $8 a year and web hosting with 2,600 Mb of web space and 60 Gb of bandwidth (which is more than you will ever need)for under $8 a month. (My website at www.tampapix.com is hosted by 60host.) Also basic web publishing software.
I've been paying $8.95 a month for my AOL for years, ever since they offered this price if I would use someone else as my Internet provider. This enables you to continue to be an AOL member and use the AOL PC application instead of having to use the Internet email service.

7. You might try plugging your AOL Hometown URL into
WayBackMachine (Top Center of the page)
http://www.archive.org/index.php
It does archieve Hometown pages and may allow you to retrieve some or all of your pages.
If you need help with purchasing a domain name or creating a new website perhaps I can help.
